What is FaithBreak, exactly?
It’s a faith-based recovery app for people trying to quit porn or work through sexual compulsion. The daily rhythm is calm. You track your clean days, lean on the Anchor when the urge hits, share what you want with a small circle of people you trust, and apply a freeze when you slip so your progress doesn’t reset. It isn’t a productivity tracker. It isn’t a clinical tool. Think of it as a quiet friend who shows up when it’s hardest.
Do I need to create an account to start?
Yep. You sign in with Apple or Google so your clean-day count, your freezes, and your circle follow you wherever you open the app. We ask for as little as we can. We don’t sell or share your data.
Is it free?
Yes. It’s free to start, and the core daily rhythm stays free. If we ever offer something paid, it’ll be optional and easy to skip. No countdown timers, no dark patterns, no guilt for not upgrading.
Does FaithBreak track streaks or scores?
Yes, and here’s the thing. We count your clean days because momentum matters. But a slip doesn’t reset you. Apply a freeze and your progress holds. The streak is a tool for grace. Not a stick to beat yourself with.
What’s a freeze?
A freeze is grace, but built into the app. When you slip, you apply a freeze and your clean-day count holds instead of starting over. We ask you to be honest with yourself, and on your own terms, with your circle. Then you begin again. As many times as it takes.
What’s the circle?
Your circle is a small group of people you invite. A sponsor, a friend, a pastor, whoever you actually trust. They get a quiet ping when you ask for support or use a freeze. It’s a circle you pick. Not a snitch app. Always opt-in. Always private.
Does the app block content?
Yes. There’s optional content blocking so you can put real distance between yourself and the stuff you’re trying to leave behind. You pick what to block and when. It’s a tool, not a leash.
What faith tradition is it built around?
It draws on Christian scripture and a view of recovery as slow, patient work. Scripture shows up sparingly and in context. Never as a lecture.
Will you send me a lot of notifications?
No. We build for quiet, not noise. You control your reminders, and we won’t use guilt or urgency to pull you back.
Is my journey private?
Yes. Your reflections, your clean-day count, and your check-ins belong to you. We don’t sell your data, and we collect only what’s needed for the app to work. Your circle sees what you choose to share, when you choose to share it. Full details are in our Privacy Policy at Privacy Policy.
Can I delete my data?
Always. You can delete your account and everything tied to it whenever you want. Need help? Email support@faithbreak.app and we’ll walk you through it.
Is FaithBreak a substitute for professional help?
No. And we’d never claim to be. FaithBreak is a companion, not a clinician. If you’re in crisis or need medical or mental-health support, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local crisis line.
